About Us

Our aim at EBC is to provide campers of all ages with an unforgettable, life-changing experience in an atmosphere that's fun, active, and Christ-honouring. Our mission is to encourage each camper to not only enter into and develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, but to help them develop Christian character as well. We want to give each one who comes to Emmanuel a chance to learn more about how God personally wants to be involved in their lives!

This all takes place on our beautiful 80 acre campground in Upton, Prince Edward Island, where the camp has been successfully running for sixty years. Campers are well fed with delicious, home-cooked meals. Our caring, experienced staff strive to create an atmosphere that’s enthusiastic and fun through a variety of games, challenges, and day-to-day activities. Emmanuel is the place to bask in the beauty of God’s creation, learn about Jesus Christ, make new friends and memories that will last a lifetime!

In 1954, Svend Christensen bought the property beside his family home and with God's leading and direction, they developed it into a Children's Camp that we are still enjoying today.

 Svend's life verse was 1 Cor 15:58

"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."

Statement of Faith

We believe that the Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments in their original texts, are fully inspired by the Holy Spirit without error, and are the final authority for the Church.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the absolute deity and full humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, the authenticity of His miracles, His bodily resurrection, His present mediatorial work in heaven.

We believe in the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit. We believe He gives life, He sanctifies, He empowers and comforts all believers.

We believe that man was originally created sinless, tempted by Satan, man fell and thereby brought the whole human race under the condemnation of eternal separation from God.

We believe that man is saved through repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. Justification is through grace alone.

We believe that the Church is the body of Jesus Christ composed of all true believers. The present work of the Church is the worship of God, the perfecting of the saints, and the evangelization of the world.

We believe in the personal and bodily return of the Lord Jesus Christ to consummate our salvation and establish His glorious Kingdom.
